Dr Gareth Norris
Dr Gareth Norris is a senior lecturer in psychology at Aberystwyth University. His broad research interests are in the application of psychology to the legal system including the courts and decision making in forensic contexts. Gareth has worked with Ceredigion Youth Justice for the last three years developing a screening tool – CYSTEM – which has been adopted across Dyfed-Powys force area as a procedural decision support tool to screen out low-risk offenders. Recently he has evaluated an intervention aimed at young people at risk of becoming involved in Serious and Organised Crime funded by the Home Office.

Dr Gwyn Griffith
Dr Gwyn Griffith is the Service Manager of a Youth Offending Team based in Aberystwyth, UK. He also manages Family support services and an Emergency Duty Team. He originally trained as a mathematical biologist gaining a PhD in from University of Wales, Cardiff in 1989. He then worked as a research scientist up to 2001 when he retrained as a Probation Officer. From 2001 to 2008 he worked for the National Probation Service delivering rehabilitation programmes to adult offenders. He then switched over to Youth Justice. He has current interests in: trends in youth crime; targeting interventions effectively; and developing interventions for young people that are both responsive and effective.
